From a young age I’ve loved telling stories and understanding how our bodies work, and didn’t realise I could combine the two until much later!
I started out a a scientist, obtaining Bachelors and Masters degrees in science and then working in research labs in Australia, Germany and Singapore:
Looking for bacteria trapped in Antarctic ice
Studying the inner life of gut parasites (it’s even grosser than you think)
Trying to understand how tumours grow.
What always interested me most was finding creative ways to communicate and share my research with others.
Now, telling science stories is my full-time job. I work as a science communicator, presenter and social media creator. Spot me sharing science videos on TikTok and Instagram, presenting and hosting at events, and helping others to build their science communication and social media skills.
My mission is to connect people, particularly the younger generations, with the science that underpins all of our lives. And I’m always looking for new and fun ways to do that!
